Parish Clergy

Fr Thomas Kulandaisamy comes from the State of Tamilnadu, India.  He belongs to the Order of Missionaries of St Francis de Sales, whose priests have been ministering here in Malmesbury ever since the start of the catholic mission in 1867.  He was ordained to the priesthood in December 2009.  He completed all his seminary formation in India (philosophy in Suvidya College-Bangalore, and theology in JDV Papal Athaneum-Pune).

After his ordination to his priesthood, he obtained his licentiate degree in Canon Law in 2013 from St Peter’s Pontifical Seminary in Bangalore, India, and gained his doctorate in canon law from Pontifical Lateran University-Rome in 2017.  He also holds a MA in English literature, and has a diploma in the cause of canonisation of Saints.

Besides his parish duties, he sits as one of the judges in the Marriage Tribunal of Clifton Diocese, and serves as the canonical counsellor for the Order of MSFS.  He is also one of the provincial Councillors for the MSFS Province of England and Vice-Postulator for the Cause of beatification of Fr Peter Mermier, the Founder of the Missionaries of St Francis de Sales.

Deacon Steve Boughton was ordained in 2013 and has lived in Malmesbury since 2007. He is married with two adult children and graduated in 2017 with a MA in Contemporary Ethics from Heythrop College, University of London.

Appointed to serve at St Aldhelm's in 2013, he also served St Peter’s, Cirencester and St Michael’s, Tetbury for 2 years, before joining the Clifton Diocese formation team supporting potential deacons as they discern their vocation and begin their training. More recently he was appointed as the diocesan promoter for the permanent diaconate, advising and encouraging men to consider their potential vocation as a deacon.

Beyond his role in Malmesbury, he works all over the UK leading transformation programmes for large companies that want to change and grow.

In his spare time he loves to fly private aircraft, is an avid reader and an appalling golfer.
